Vicki Park is Assistant Project Scientist in Education Studies at UCSD. She
is currently working as the Director of Research on a project funded by the
Gates
Foundation focusing on youth in poverty who are not on-track to attain
a post-secondary credential. Vicki earned her Ph.D. in Urban Education Policy
with an emphasis
on K-12 leadership and administration in urban school settings from USC
Rossier School of Education. Prior to earning her doctorate, she worked as an
elementary
and middle school teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She
received her teaching credentials and M.Ed. from UCLA’s Teacher Education
Program.
Her research broadly focuses on the impact of accountability policies on
urban schools, student engagement, and the ways in which class, race, and
gender shape the academic development of low-income youth.
